Therapy that starts with a conversation, not a form

What we work with

And, below each, what we would refer elsewhere.

Anxiety and panic

CBT and exposure work, usually eight to sixteen sessions. Acute panic with a cardiac history goes to a physician first — we will say so at the consultation.

Depression and low mood

Behavioural activation and CBT. Where medication is likely to help we refer to a psychiatrist and work alongside them rather than instead of them.

Relationships and family

Couples and family sessions, both parties present. We do not take on one partner to work on the other, which is a request we get and decline.

Trauma and PTSD

EMDR and trauma-focused CBT with clinicians trained in both. Active crisis or risk to life needs emergency services, not an appointment in nine days.

How it works

Three steps, and you can stop after the first at no cost.

01

Free consultation

Thirty minutes with a licensed therapist to talk about what brought you. No charge, no obligation, and no notes kept if you do not continue.

02

Assessment and intake

A structured session covering history, goals and risk. This is what the match is made on — matching before it is guesswork dressed as a service.

03

Matched to a therapist

Usually within four working days. If the fit is wrong you tell the coordinator, not the therapist, and you are moved without a conversation about it.

The practice

We guide you through your mental health recovery

Healance is eleven licensed therapists working out of two rooms in Gariahat, with a coordinator who does the matching so that no clinician is assessing their own suitability. Everybody here holds an RCI licence or an M.Phil in clinical psychology, and the register number is on each profile below. Session notes belong to you: ask and they are shared, which is a right people rarely know they have.

From people who came here

Samantha William

The trauma from my accident haunted me for two years. The free consultation is the reason I came at all — I had cancelled on two other practices because paying two thousand rupees to find out whether I could talk to someone felt like a bet I would lose. Fourteen sessions later I finally feel like myself.
